Under the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (General Applications) Regs 2007 all employers are required to carry out a risk assessment to identify their First Aid requirements.
All Blackwater Safety instructors are recognised by the Occupational First Aid Assessment Authority (OFAAA) to deliver and examine OFA courses. The OFAAA are the body recognised by the Health and Safety Authority to regulate First Aid in the Workplace and set the Irish standards for OFA.
This is a one-day course recognised by FETAC. The course covers the use of a Defibrillator (AED), CPR (Adult, Child and Baby), Choking Management, Heart Attack and Stroke treatment, and Aspirin administration.
A one-day course recognised by OFAAA to re-certify Occupational First Aiders in the last year of their certification or whose certification has recently lapsed.

Under the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (General Applications) Regs 2007 all employers are required to carry out a risk assessment of their Manual Handling activities. Where this risk assessment says it is necessary employees must be trained in Manual Handling techniques. This course is designed to meet that requirement.
This course is designed for workers who have experience of Forklift truck operation. Operators will be taught the principles of Safe FLT operation and will be assessed on completion of the course.

Professional truck and bus drivers are required to undertake Continuous Professional Competency training on an ongoing basis. The training cycle is 5 days over 5 years with an additional day if a driver operates both coaches and trucks.
Under the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regs 2006 and 2008 personnel obstructing the road while carrying out construction activities must be under the control of a person holding a Construction Skills Certification Scheme card in Signing, Lighting and Guarding. This course is Fas and FETAC recognised.
Under the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regs 2006 and 2008 personnel who are oerating a cable Avoidance Tool and locating underground services must hold a Construction Skills Certification Scheme card in Location of Underground Services. This course is Fas and FETAC recognised.
Where roadworks are ongoing and traffic management measures are in place the Signing, Lighting and Guarding cardholder may leave the site under the control of a person in possession of a CSCS card in Health and Safety at Roadworks providing that the CSCS Signing, Lighting and Guarding card holder is immediately available.
A variety of CSCS courses can be arranged upon request.
Courses in Fire Safety include Fire marshal training, Fire Extinguisher training and Evacuation Training and the carrying out of supervised evacuations.
General Safety Awareness training can be carried out over 1 day to meet the specific training requirements identified for your business. This will enable you to meet the general requirements for safety training laid down in the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
A one-day course in Safety Awareness required under the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regs 2006 for all construction operatives and tradesmen.
